Best Holiday Catamaran Charters

April 1, 2025

Spending the holidays with loved ones, family, and friends is always special. Doing it on an all-inclusive, luxury, crewed yacht charter? Next level.

Chartering in the Virgin Islands for the holidays can be a wonderful experience and a fabulous change of scenery from the shopping malls, snow, iced over wiper blades, and traffic filled roads.

We’ve got several fantastic, crewed, catamarans sailing throughout the British Virgin Islands and US Virgin Islands this coming Holiday season. Take a peak at this curated sample and let’s start planning what this Holiday could look like for you and your family.

Sail Away

Sail Away is a 2014 Lagoon 620, which can accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 ensuite cabins. This is one of the very few catamarans in this size, that you can have the entire family onboard. The Lagoon 620 is a charter machine, fully equipped and furnished with comfort and luxury in mind.

A few key features that make the Lagoon 620 such a great charter boat for a large group of friends or a big family, are:

  • The fully enclosed flybridge. With seating and sunpads for the entire group, this flybridge will keep you safe from the elements, while still offering uninterrupted 360 degree views. Guests often enjoy a morning cup of coffee here, or finishing the day with a sundowner.
  • The bow. The trampolines have the thick, soft netting that lets you feel supported, but still allowing the cool air and sea spray through. I also love the giant sunpads and bean bags Sail Away also provides for guests. The flybridge is a great spot to enjoy while underway or at anchorage.
  • The hydraulic swim platform. Whether you’ve got nervous swimmers, or guests with mobility issues, this is such a great feature to have onboard. This platform raises in and out of the water and I personally love sitting on the platform with my legs dangling in the water, sipping on a cocktail and watching the boats pass by in the anchorage.
  • A powerful 90HP 17′ dinghy. Having a proper sized dinghy is almost as important as the boat itself. This is what will get you to and from your shore excursions, as well as pull the group around on all the watertoys.

Sail Away is available for both the Christmas and New Year’s charter weeks. To see Sail Away’s full e-brochure, click here.

Indigo

Indigo is a brand new 2024, Horizon Power Catamaran and can accommodate up to 6 guests, in 3 ensuite cabins. The Horizon catamarans are all about luxury, comfort, stability, and more luxury. This is a fantastic option for a girls’ trip, a small family, or a couple’s getaway.

A few of my favorite features on Indigo are:

  • The primary’s suite on deck. This is such a unique cabin to be on the same level as the salon and galley. It is full beam, features wrap around windows, has a King sized bed, and spacious bathroom.
  • The fully air conditioned flybridge. Another very unique feature to the Horizon power catamarans that you won’t find on other catamarans, is an enclosed flybridge, with air conditioning, a full bar, two helm seats with large lounging pads, a day head and an L-shaped dining nook.
  • The port aft guest cabin. I love the versatility of this cabin, with the option to use as two twin beds, or a massive King-size bed. It’s a great cabin for kids or This cabin can easily switch between two twins or be turned into a King-sized bed. I love this option for teenage kids or two adults who don’t want to have to share a bed.
  • A cruising speed of 18knots. Now the islands, cays and islets throughout the Virgin Islands aren’t super far apart, but having a great and comfortable cruising speed means more time is spent exploring these beautiful areas.

Indigo is available for both the Christmas and New Year’s week. To view Indigo’s full e-brochure and massive water toy inventory, click here.

Port to Vino

Port to Vino is a 2023 Fountaine Pajot Samana 59, that can accommodate up to 8 guests in 4 ensuite cabins. This catamaran has it all with a well covered flybridge, a forward cockpit, a proper owner’s suite, and 70HP dinghy with a plethora of watertoys.

A few of my favorite features of Port to Vino are:

  • The hydraulic swim platform. We’ve talked about how this particular amenity can really add to your overall experience of chartering a boat, and that’s because of how multipurpose they are. You can stay dry and use it as a mini beach club. Accessing the water and dinghy is a breeze. And having another great sitting area on the stern to enjoy your surrounding views.
  • The sunken forward cockpit. The bow has so much going on with trampolines and bow seats, but having a sunken cockpit that will protect you from the sea spray while underway, is fantastic. The sunken cockpit is super comfortable while underway.
  • A spacious primary’s cabin. The beautifully appointed cabin will ensure the best night’s sleep. The separate shower, head, and sink, ensures two people can comfortably get ready so 1 person isn’t hogging the entire bathroom. There’s private access to the cockpit, lots of hanging closets, and a full walk-around queen sized bed.

Keep in mind this is just a sample of a few great catamarans available. There are over 200 catamarans in the Virgin Islands, alone.
