It’s that time of the year for the US Sailboat Show, more affectionatly known as the Annapolis Boat Show. Whether you’ve been every year for the last 20 years, or this is your first year attending the show, here are four tips to ensure a succesful visit to the show.

Dressing Appropriately
Annapolis is notorious for having extreme weather, from flooding in the streets to cause the show to temporarily close, to hot, sunny temperatures. Looking at the forecast for this year’s show, we know it’ll be important to plan for rainy and colder weather.
Helly Hansen will have a booth in the show as well as their main store on Main Street, just in case you didn’t bring enough layers or wet weather gear. The other thing to consider is your footwear. If you plan to view a lot of boats, pick footwear that is easy to slide on and off.
Make Dinner Reservations
Annapolis has lots of great restaurants, but with the influx of people for the boat show, it means a much greater risk of standing around waiting for an hour + for a table. Some of our favorite spots are: Osteria 177, Tsunami, Vin 909, and Fox’s Den.
Jump on The Catamarans
You bought your ticket to attend a boat show, this is an amazing opportunity to climb aboard as many catamarans as possible. It’s your chance to compare models, side by side, and really get a feel for how the different brands and models stack up.
Ask yourself, “Am I looking to buy a catamaran today? Do I already own a boat and looking to upgrade, sell, or kit it out? Am I looking to try before I buy and want to plan a catamaran charter vacation with my friends/family? Or, am I just here to enjoy a day walking around beautiful and historic Annapolis and see some really pretty boats?”
How you answer these questions will help prepare you for a day at the Annapolis Sailboat Show and ensure you’re having a great time.
Stay Hydrated and Energized
Walking the show on floating docks, navigating around lots of people, and battling the elements can leave anyone feeling a bit drained. Make sure you’re taking time to drink water, stop to grab some food, and relax with a must-have Pusser’s Painkiller or Orange Crush.
