We’ve heard it many times and we’ll most likely continue to hear it, but we are living in unprecedented times. The Coronavirus pandemic has changed the way we live, work, and go about our entire routine. However, it hasn’t changed the fact, that we still want to go on vacations, escape cold weather, find a new adventure or spend some quality time with our loved ones.
With the U.S. recently passing the new requirement for all international travelers entering into the U.S. to provide a negative COVID-19 test, taken within 3 days of their arrival; Americans face one more obstacle if they’re trying to plan a vacation with their families. To me, spending time on a vacation taking Covid tests, quarantining, waiting for results, is no way to spend your vacation time. Thankfully, US Territories (i.e. US Virgin Islands) are exempt; making a crewed yacht charter, your best pandemic escape.
The USVI still has safety protocols and measures in place for visiting their islands to help keep both their residents and visitors safe. Visitors will need to do the following: Produce a negative Covid test result that was taken within 5 days of travel and Complete the USVI online travel screening portal. Visiting the USVI is super easy as passports aren’t required and there are lots of daily, non-stop flights into St. Thomas and St. Croix. And with the USVI requiring the 1 Covid test prior to travel, visitors won’t be spending their vacation time worrying about what day of quarantine they’re on, or where they have to go to take another test. You’ll truly be on ‘island time.’
