One of the most common questions I receive from charter clients is what’s the ‘must-see’ or the ‘must-do’ my family and I should visit while on our crewed charter yacht vacation? There’s lots of cool spots to visit throughout the US Virgin Islands. But here are several of the newest spots throughout the territory that are worth a visit and might even become your next go to spot.
1: Zozo’s Restaurant at Caneel Bay, St. John – ZoZo’s opened at the end of 2020 in the old Caneel Bay Resort. Since hurricanes Irma and Maria tore through the territory in 2017, the resort hasn’t allowed visitors back to the property. With the addition of ZoZo’s, visitors can walk the beach and enjoy lunch and dinner. Access is easy as yachts can anchor in the bay and dinghy to the restaurant’s dock. Reservations are required.
2: The Lovango Resort & Beach Club – Lovango Cay – Is a private island consisting of 118 acres, located northwest from Cruz Bay, St. John. This island has become one of the newest attractions in the USVI’s. It’s a fabulous way to break up your charter week by spending the day on the island, which has something for everyone in your group: hiking the various trails, lounging in the cabanas next to the beautiful infinity pool, snorkeling off a secluded beach on the Northside, shopping in the boutiques, or playing games like corn hole and a life-size chess board! Guests can also enjoy lunch and dinner at the restaurant, overlooking Pillsbury Sound.
3: Lime Out – Coral Harbour, St. John – It’s hard to miss the giant neon green floating taco bar, Lime Out, floating in Coral Bay in St. John, which is accessible only by boat. Serving handcrafted cocktails and tasty tacos on the water. There’s even a swim up bar, which guests can sit in the water while enjoying their meal. Or try the floating lily pads where your group can share tacos and delicious libations. The restaurant is open daily from 11:00am to 5:00pm.
