Since March 2012 the boat has been maintained and upgraded by the owner. From March to May 2012, the owners and contractors added extensive upgrades to bring the boat into long distance cruise readiness for the Atlantic crossing and to comply with the requirements of the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers. The boat was hauled in August 2014, sandblasted, epoxy sealed and Cooper Coat (10 year warranty) applied.

The owners have sailed extensively in the Caribbean and in May-June 2012 the owners sailed “Purrrfect” across the Atlantic, via Bermuda, to the Azores and to Portugal. The boat has been sailing in the Mediterranean for 2 1/2 years.  In 2014 she sailed back across the Atlantic and now lies in the Caribbean, ready for more long distance cruising.

While “Purrrfect” is a standard Lagoon 380 S2, she has been extensively upgraded to provide for long distance cruising in comfort. For example, there are professionally installed additional shelving in the galley and at the chart table. Each of the heads has additional shelves and towel bars and each cabin has hooks and door mirrors. Trampoline type shelves and line hanging system enhance storage in the forward compartments.  The boat handles well with a two-person crew, including reefing system back to the cockpit. Instruments have been added to the navigation table to allow for controlling the boat from the inside navigation station. Outboard genoa sheeting and main sail preventers and snubber have also been added for sailing performance and safety. All docking and mooring equipment for use in the Mediterranean and elsewhere are aboard and set up for user convenience.
